I'm working on a bedroom project right now that needs a really awesome overhead light to replace the boring ceiling fan. A chandelier? Lantern? Drum shade?
Here are some of the photos that are inspiring me...
I love chandelier's and lanterns. Unfortunately, I live in Atlanta, GA and a ceiling fan is just about a necessity if you don't want your air conditioning running constantly!
I've just discovered your blog and it is such a treat to see your updates! You have such a great eye for design and I love how "hands on" you are in the design process. I wish I didn't need the sound of a fan when I sleep because I'd install a glitzy chandelier over my bed.
Wow.. these are some great images. I'm currently working on my bedroom (you can see pics over at my blog) so this is a great help. I love a good sparkling chandelier. Beautiful blog! x Trina
So many of these rooms are gorgeous! I have a lot of the same ones saved to my files. I love the look of a beautiful chandelier over a bed, but I live in hot, muggy Houston and a fan is an absolute necessity. It's just too bad that the majority are hideous.
Thanks so much for the post... I've been wanting to replace our light in the bedroom... I've been leaning toward a chandelier, but I was supristed at how much I liked the latern style lighting. .. decisions, decisions.
Oh, my goodness, I know that you wanted us to look at the lights, but I was swooning over the benches at the foot of the beds!!! I guess that's because that's what I'm coveting right now. That polka dot one in #3 is to die for!!
Where do you get all of your photos from? I love that orange and blue bedroom! The combo is so unexpected, but I know I would love waking up feeling sunny and cheery even in the dead of winter with those colors around me.
must have a fan in Phoenix but if i could have a hanging light fixture i would go with latern. drum shades and chandeliers are hard to dust! laterns are practical and pretty.
I was wondering if you could tell me where to get the lantern style pendant in the second picture down (from the top of your post). Thanks so much! Jori jori_ryan@att.net

I love a chandelier as well. I wanted one in my bedroom, but with the bed directly under the light and not a huge amount of height it couldn't happen.

ReplyDeleteif you can do without overhead lighting there are so good-looking fans that don't have lights. they have a more sleek profile.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving lanterns in every possible room at the moment!
