DIY Side Table

By now I'm sure you've picked up on the fact that we're on a strict budget this year. "Make it do, or do without" is the motto.

I bought this column/plant stand thingy a few years ago at a thrift store for about $0.50. I've never really had a good use for it, so when I needed a new small side table, this little guy fell into the line of fire.

Here is the column thing hanging out in our old house, not really serving a purpose.

I epoxied a cheap pre-cut wooden round from Lowes to the top and spray painted the whole thing white (because that's the color I had on hand).

I might go back with a punchier color later. But I like the white for now. Easy and very cheap is my favorite kind of project.

  13. I love the idea of repurposing something you already own -- especially when it's something that formerly didn't serve much use.

    Looks great!

  15. Lovely! I feel like that could look cool in a really bright color, like a kelly green or orange or something. Or if you don't want to burn your retinas then white, which is very cool as well.

  22. Helloooo!! I was wondering what color and brand of paint you have in this picture. We are currently in the process of buying a home and it realllllly needs a new coat of paint and I love the two colors you have. I see that the color in the hallway is a tan-ish color, and the other looks a little blue. Do you mind sharing what colors they are? I have the same color floor and I having been debating colors very similar to yours. Thanks for your help. You can email me at blondeeDM@yahoo.com

  26. Hi, I just came across your post.

    I like your "makeovers".

Love the "Little white table". I'm all for re-inventing pieces of furniture. Paint cures all. Feels like you are always getting something new.

    Thanks for sharing.
