Happy Weekend

Hi friends! I didn't mean to drop off so early this week, so sorry for the slim posting schedule! I was a speaker at Alt Design Summit again (yay!) and I've been sick as a dog all the while, so a little blog break was in order. Also, in the sad news department, we lost my sweet Grandpa yesterday so I'll be traveling to Arizona for his funeral basically right after I get back to New York. So many highs and lows recently! Thank goodness for all the fun distractions I've had here at Alt. It really was so great to see blogging friends - what a bright spot in this sad, strange, dayquil-filled week. :)

One of the things I love about coming to Alt each year is having time away from the daily grind, where I can reflect on my blog and business and make some concrete plans. I really want to get some more momentum going with a fabric line this year. (You guys. On Wednesday, I got to pick Annie Selke's brain all night about this over dinner. It was amazing - and she is a true genius.). I've got all sorts of ideas for patterns, but wouldn't something like this pattern from the jeans I wore today at Alt be perfect? I want a floral that feels less stuffy, more modern. It almost looks decoupage.

{And the neon heels are from J Crew.}

I miss you all! I'm excited to get back to regular posting and regular life on Monday. Have a lovely weekend. xo

Jenny, I'm so sorry for your loss. I have to say, the idea of you creating a fabric line is some of the best news I've heard lately! And as I commented on Instagram, this fabric in a yardage is just the sort of thing I have been looking for and not finding, especially for a decent price available to the public. Something like the orangerie is what I've been dreaming or, with lots of black. I look forward to hearing more about this! Your eye and taste can't be beat!

My deepest sympathies for the loss of your Grandpa. I hope you are feeling better too! I want to tell you that if you made a line of fabric I would buy all of it! You have fabulous style, I hope you do this! I'm also totally digging your floral jeans.

Jenny, your style, and the way you mix colors & patters is so fresh and inspired, I have no doubt if you created a fabric line it would be wildly successful. Best of luck with the venture! Take care of yourself & your family- we always miss you when you're gone, but sometimes you just need to take a break. xo

First, I'm so sorry about your grandpa. The weather has been so gloomy and overcast here and that seems fitting.
Second, a fabric line?!!!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandpa. Hubs Grandmother left us at the end of November, such a void. I'm quite jealous of your pants, I have yet to find the perfect pair. None of them look right on me. I hope you've enjoyed your time at Alt, from what I've heard, it's been a huge success thus far!

firstly, sincere condolances. Second, I LOVE the jeans. Can I ask are they on the shop floor in nordstroms? My best friend is visiting nyc next month and will get them for me but i need to tell her exactly where they are? 7 jeans are at least double the price here in Dublin so the price looks as good as they do.

A fabric line ... how exciting! And what an amazing opportunity to pick Annie's brain! I have a request for your fabric line. The world is in need of patterns that include the colors black, white, red and blue. Preferably many shades of blue. I have had such trouble finding any that aren't traditional florals. Ugh!

Oh Jenny, I'm THRILLED to hear of a fabric line! I'm a quilter, and also reupholstering my furniture. I'd love florals like the following couch, but can't manage to find a thing. http://pinterest.com/pin/79164905920970817/

Jenny,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss!
We all do need to take a moment in life to do the things we enjoy and get that respite from the everyday grind. Glad to hear Annie Selke was inspirational. She must have headed straight to the NYC Gift show as she was there on Saturday. It is always good to network with inspiring people. It excites you again.
Be well, and hope you are feeling better.
