Don't you love those demure little frames on the botanical series? Do you think these are custom frames?
And I like how the books are stacked on the shelves here. Also loving the little side table in front of the bookcase. And animal print is welcome in any and all of my rooms.
How was your weekend? Poor little Evie is sick - she's very congested and is having a hard time keeping food down. I'll admit that yesterday was not the most glamorous Mother's Day, being covering in spit up and rocking a very sad little one most of the day. The nice thing was we all had an excuse to take it easy this weekend - lots of naps and movies. It was awesome.
Very soothing...perfect after a long weekend!! Hope your little one feels better soon!
ReplyDeleteHope Evie is back to her wild little self soon and sitting pretty in a room just like that with you!

This room looks really liveable; I like it.
ReplyDeleteHope the baby feels better--isn't every day as a mother just as glamorous? :)
Hope Evie feels better soon-- she's so little to be sick! But nice that you could find joy in the "real" motherhood!
ReplyDeleteThe frames look like simple DIY copper sheeting frames that Martha did a few years back....Inspired Living
ReplyDeleteThat room looks so cozy and inviting! Sorry to hear Evie is sick. It seems like the pollen is especially bad this year. Everyone at my house is sniffling and sneezing. I guess the silver lining is that it isn't unbearably hot yet!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a real-life, but relaxing, Mother's Day. (I, too, am wearing fresh spit-up . . .)
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know more about that MS copper frame project? I tried to find it on her website, but had no luck. Also, that print looks like it might be faux-bois. Just as nice as a zebra print in my book.
Love this look, though. Thanks for posting.
love those botanical prints. i'm redecorating three rooms soon, so trying to decide what kind of artwork to hang up. love how these look above the sofa!
ReplyDeletebeautiful space. best wishes to evie and her mom!
ReplyDeleteWe spent Mother's Day much the same way - our son was so congested with a nasty cold. Have you seen this?

It is amazing and helped him breathe so much better.
Hope your little one is feeling better! Happy belated Mother's Day!

nothing is worse than a sick little babe. have you ever heard of nosefrida? it's the best invention for mamas to get all the mucous from little ones that can't blow their noses. we looove it and it has spared us from many ear infections for my 2 babes.
ReplyDeleteI third the Nosefrida! AMAZING!

Mine were sick yesterday too! )c: hope Evie is getting better and mommy is getting some rest!
ReplyDeleteSimplicity is key!
ReplyDeletemmm that tufted couch is so lovely. much agreed that simple does not mean boring. i love simple!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry Evie is sick. I hope she recovers quickly! That room is definitely very soothing.
ReplyDeleteLove the frames behind the couch, very soothing.
ReplyDeleteI bought a little book on sale at Anthropologie a while ago and I was planning on cutting out the pages and arranging them exactly like this picture here. They are a mix of vintage looking drawings of nature. And I wanted the frames to look exactly that. If anyone has any more info on these frames, please pass along!
ReplyDeleteHey Jenny,
ReplyDeleteStill stalking your blog like a proud dad should...sorry about our Evie.
You know what a maniac I am about keeping babies noses clear...I saw your readers comments about the Nosefrida and checked it out. WOW that is AWESOME! I'm going to get a bunch for my patients...Who knows, I might just provide one for Evie?
Love Ya, Dad
Catherine & Shannon: Took some digging but was able to locate the MS DIY project on making simple frames. I couldn't find it on the website but knew it was in one of my mags. It appears on pg's 108 & 109 (article title is THE RIGHT FRAME by Sarah Medford). Issue no 16, October & November 1993. Can probably find it in the library. ~ Inspired Living
ReplyDeleteAny suggestions for a fireplace with a trapezoidal chimney (visible from the inside)?
ReplyDelete@Inspired Living - Many, many thanks! That must have taken some serious digging!
ReplyDeleteCatherine- actually, it wasn't so bad. A quick search on the MS website told me that they don't archive the early issues. As it happens, I'm prepping for a big move and am up to sorting thru my stash of mags, so they were out & accessible. As with everything, timing is everything:) Good luck!! - Inspired Living
ReplyDeleteI've seen botanical prints like this that use linen tape. It's glass on the front, linen tape literally on the glass, and a sturdy back. Saw these in a french shop in Maine last summer in that style.
