So loving this new-to-me blog, Dwellers Without Decorators, written by Glamour editor, Suze Yalof Schwartz.
That owl looks familiar...
If you love a good before/after series, check out all the 'Chez Moi' posts in her sidebar. Here are some of my favorites from her NYC apartment renovation. All photos by Dan Hallman.

ReplyDeleteI am especially in love with that first black couch! Thanks for sharing this link!
ReplyDeleteThat's a fantastic apartment! I love what she did with it!
ReplyDeleteWhat is going on with the ceiling fan in the living room and dining room? It is a drum shade/ceiling fan combo? Did she create/combine this herself? Is there a site where you can purchase this? Interesting.
ReplyDeleteI love the moulding detail around the doors. Great site!
ReplyDeleteCheck out the owl on my post today. It was my Mom's from around 1984. I forgot she had it and now I'm hoping she still does!
Wow, this stuff gives me stomach butterflies - just beautiful! Thanks for the post, as I thank you for ALL your posts!!
ReplyDeletethis is a great place! i visited her blog as well-love it and yours! i especially love how she paid attention to detail in the "mud room" area.
ReplyDeleteHeaded to check out this blog right now!
ReplyDeleteWOW! the painted moulding is so major in her space. i can't wait to read through her archives this weekend — thanks for the introduction!
ReplyDeleteThis blog is relatively new to me as well and I, too, love it. I also love that she shares most of her sources....
ReplyDeleteFor the person who asked about the drum shade on the fan...I posted info about the guy that does these on my blog recently. I am in no way affiliated with his company but do plan to try it out for myself soon.

ReplyDeleteFor a magazine editor, that Suze Schwartz really has some heinous spelling. Girlfriend needs spellcheck.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU JENNY!!!!!! I just saw this and thank you so much for all the amazing comments BTW Anonymous is right I stink at spelling! I am away this weekend but will link to this post on Monday! XO Suze
ReplyDeletewait one cotton-pickin' minute! I didn't know you could have a drum shade on a ceiling fan!! I have to horrible ceiling fans that I can't get rid of because I don't have AC. If anyone has any suggestions on how to DIY or buy a spankin' new drum shade ceiling fan - please post here!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for highlighting this blog! Lots of additions for the inspiration folder!
ReplyDeleteOMG - I am GASPING for breath! Thanks for the heads up on her blog!
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of this, loving what I am seeing so far...about to head over and lose hours perusing...
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful home and totally amazing that she has kids that live there. I'm so impressed how she made her home so kid-proof (laminated fabric! - so cool).
ReplyDeleteI am particularly fond of this foyer...given such a small space. I am looking for ideas for mine and this gives me some inspiration!
ReplyDeleteOn my way to check it out! Love these images! Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite and most earmarked Elle Decor articles is this apartment (from at least a couple years ago)...probably because it's so user-friendly.
ReplyDeleteThese photos show much more character, though. Elle Decor made it look larger and more austere and they cropped out some of the more colorful elements.
So the first thing I noticed was the drum shade on the ceiling fan...and I am so doing this!!! Living in the South, fans are a must, and a few in our house have the light kits (which I despise). What a chic way to hide it!
