Honeycomb/Peacock Mirror

I usually like my mirrors and my lamps to be vintage. There are just so many unique and inexpensive options available at thrift stores and on eBay and Craigslist. It seems silly to spend hundreds of dollars on something new and cheaply made.

But every now and then an option is available at a retail store that I really love. This Honeycomb mirror is available at Pier 1.

Full price is $250, but it was on sale for $89 at my local Pier 1.

Much less expensive than a vintage peacock mirror or even other new versions (like this gorgeous one from Wisteria).

I think it's a pretty spin on the sunburst style and is just the right amount of glam and sparkle.

PS The lovely and talented Reichel blogged about this here too. xx

  1. I've always loved these mirrors, and I saw the one at Pier 1 - but sadly, they've always been a bit out of my budget. But now if they're on sale at my Pier 1 too.... Yay!!

    Thanks for sharing!

  8. Which Pier 1 did you get it at?? It's still $249 at my local store...I wonder if they would ship to me??

  9. Wow, was it damaged? I just called my Pier 1, and she said it was still full price and that their prices from store to store should be the same unless there is damage. Weird!

  12. Hmm. That's weird that it's full price again. A week or two ago I noticed it was marked down to $150 (maybe $175?) on the website. Then recently I was on my way home from a job in NYC and I made a lunch detour somewhere in New Jersey. There just happened to be a Pier 1 near the Panera Bread I was eating at, so I stopped in to check out the quality of the mirror. There was only one mirror left and it had a red sale/clearance ticket on it for $89. It doesn't look damaged anywhere, but maybe that's why it was so cheap??

    It will surely go on sale again though - so wait it out! But even at $250, I think it's a great mirror for the price!

  14. What a great eye! So true about finding beautiful mirrors secondhand, too. I found a heavy gold faux bamboo oblong octagon-shaped mirror at St. Vincent de Paul thrift for just $30, and the next day saw the same mirror on a fine interior design website. I felt pretty good. ;) Your mirror you found at Pier 1 is fantastic. {I have that entryway photo page bookmarked in my domino book, too.}

  17. Hi Jenny, I love those mirrors. Did you see the new SATC movie? There were tons of them in a scene with Carrie and Aidan in Morocco (although in the movie they´re supposed to be in Abu Dhabi).
    You should see it (if you haven´t already of course).. despite the bad reviews

  20. Jenn - Hey, Aunt Becky here! You have got to check out this girls mirrors. Her blog is Under the Table and Dreaming (I love the name!) and she has 2 homemade mirror sections. One is 'sunburst, raindrop, starburst mirror', she uses skewers! and the other one is called recycled cereal box sunburst mirror, yeah, it uses cereal boxes. Check it out. Too fun. I can't afford the mirrors that I love, but these just might work in fun little places in our homes! Love ya
