But, the exciting thing to report is that now that our walls are (basically) done, I've been brainstorming fun projects and purchases for our place! I thought this week it would be fun to share some of the images saved in my 'NYC APT' folder.
Could kill for these curtains...
A wall of bookshelves in an interesting color and with a ladder!
Inspiration for our pantry. I just painted my shelving out in glossy navy with yellow trim and I placed a big order for my favorite Weck jars.

I love this great linen available through Ballard for $24/yd.
If this post didn't convince you to buy some great antiques and reupholster them with fabulous fabric, maybe seeing this amazing sofa will. I'm so in love with that fabric!

Wow, Jenny - great inspiration! I can tell your creative mind is brewing up a storm!! Have a great week!
ReplyDeletei just gave away about 200 books on saturday, due to lack of space and wanting to de-clutter. and GASP, i'm thinking about investing in a Kindle. but the look of that floor to ceiling bookshelf with ladder... SIGH. i've always wanted something like that....
ReplyDeleteFabricguru.com has that exact same linen print for 9.95/yd in several colorways, but they don't have the spice color. Search "Wendell" to find it. I love the graphite!
ReplyDeletehey! I LOVE the shelves with the canisters. what all would you put in those? I can think of some things, but if you have any unusuals for it, that would be awesome. GREAT POST!!
ReplyDeletethese images are gorgeous! cannot imagine the beautiful room that will come from this inspiration!

I've got to agree, those curtains -- in fact the whole room -- in that first shot is dreamy.

ReplyDeleteoh jenny, i can't wait to see what you do! dramatic curtains & a wall of bookshelves is a gorgeous start. xo
ReplyDeletelove the curtains, love the fabric on that screen and the tufted ottoman in that pic, the fabric on the last sofa makes me smile and who wouldn't want a great wall of books with a matching chandelier? love it! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the blue painted bookshelves and that chandelier! fabulous. Hmm..I keep thinking of painting or gold leafing my dining room cabinets...may fall is the time.
ReplyDeleteWECK jars are so beautiful -- thanks for the link, our local kitchen stores are not carrying them anymore! Good luck with everything!
It's a dalmatian couch! I've been looking for some good fabric recently.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love the feel of that first image. I used to live in a place that had that kind of architecture, and somehow the decor wouldn't quite work in my 50's tract house now...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEN, LOVE MOM
ReplyDeleteLove the curtains too! But it was the rod that caught my eye. It looks like it is a fully functional rod; that is, it looks like the curtains can be closed all the way to the middle around the bend in the bay window, yes? Any idea where I could find a rod that has both form and function in a bay windonw like that?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jenny!
Love all the ideas!! What kind of navy paint did you use for your cabinets? I am looking for a navy for the legs of my kitchen table!
ReplyDeleteHow do you keep coming up with such beautiful ideas?
ReplyDeleteBTW, don't you have a Evelyn?

ReplyDeleteOrganizing my kitchen has been on my mind. Thanks for the link to the Weck jars. Can I ask, what style and sizes are your favorite, and what you plan to put in them? Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteI will take the curtains and the screen!
ReplyDeletePlease can anyone tell me what fabric that chair is upholstered with in the third photo! I LOVE IT! Thanks for sharing!

Those curtains are EXACTLY the look and color I want for the very wide bay window in my living room! And like Kim, I really would love to know where to find a rod like that. Any ideas?
ReplyDeleteGreat inspiration even though I'm a couple years late lol. But the mice in the cupboard are a little too creepy for me to grasp even though it's just decor.
