I loved this little trick she shared. Lauren bought regular striped wall-to-wall carpet (similar to the bound remnant I bought for my living room) and had her carpet installers lay it on the diagonal!! GENIUS!!!
What an easy and chic way to have super custom looking flooring. I'm thinking if we move and need a smaller rug, I'll have my yellow striped rug cut down on the diagonal and re-bound. It feels really fresh!
On a related note, I'm still loving chevron rugs in the right spaces. I rounded up a handful of great-looking chevron rugs HERE. The most expensive one by a long shot is $500 for and 8x10.
Love the striped rug on the diagonal! It's so dynamic that way. Also loving the Lego dog as art. We took the kids to a Lego exhibit at Strong Museum, and they(the hubs, too) were so excited to come home and make Lego sculptures. What a great room! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLoving diagonal stripes!
ReplyDeleteI love stripes but heard Nate Berkus say "Still?" in regards to stripes (in clothing) being "in" - on one of his shows last season. So every time I pick up stripes I think: "Still?" Then think: I DO still love them!
I've been noticing a lot of diagonal stripes in clothing, lately too-Great tip to change up the stripes we still love! Thanks, Jenny!
This is great!! And I absolutely need to round up enough legos to build a lego dog like that for a centerpiece in our living room, haha! Wow.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm such a sucker for a great graphic print rug. My husand says I have a rug addiction. I really love the chevrons too! Thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMy hardwood floors are on the diagonal, and I love them. BTW, there is a chevron rug coming from the Missoni for Target line that I have my eye on!
ReplyDeleteThe vinyl toys! I have a bunch of those in the office and it seems as though everyone is a collector these days (check out the Nike CEO's office)
