We're going to Hawaii on December 10 and then straight to Arizona for Christmas, so there's lots to get done before leaving. I'm hoping that hard drive gets recovered sometime this week. Fingers crossed!
Since we're leaving so soon, we decided to just get a little mini Christmas tree. It's been fun to see the make-shift tree lots pop up all over the city. It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!
Photoshop is downloading on my new laptop this morning and then that room tour I promised last Monday will go up!!
In the meantime, I've been working with a client on a nursery project (my favorite rooms to do I think!). She is in love with this nursery and we're using it as our feel/color inspiration. The gray is great because my client is waiting to find out the gender.
I did a round up of nursery gliders on Babble today. I'd love your input if you've got one you really love at home. We haven't placed our order yet.
See you in a few with that room tour! xx
So sorry to hear about your computer...at least you are back up for "cyber Monday". Looking forward to the room tour.
ReplyDeleteSerena and Lily Hayes Glider in their white paisley slipcover. About to order my second for baby #2. I honestly cannot imagine buying anything else after how comfortable this is. I also think the pair will be stunning in a living room one day. Oh and I have washed the slipcovers in our machine at home about 20 times and they have held up beautifully!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your hard drive crash but knowing you, you will be back in full swing in no time. Love making merry as we head towards Christmas and I also love doing random acts of kindness....just little unexpected nice things to remind myself of the real reason for the season.
ReplyDeleteI have a little white batting tree that i will share soon -

Cute girlies! We drove by NYC on our way back from Florida and thought of you guys tons. Your December sounds lovely! Have a wonderful holiday. I am loving the stripes being so faded in that nursery. Not too over powering.
ReplyDeleteThe curtains in the kids room are adorable!
ReplyDeleteGreat options. We needed a budget chair with slightly smaller dimensions and ended up with the Best Chairs Hagen model. Our retailer had great fabric options and the chair (and light upholstery) has held up very well for the past two years... all for under $500.

Such a lovely room -- I see why your client likes it.
ReplyDeleteI hate to say it, but my Jennifer Delonge glider, while beautiful, is not very comfortable for me. I find that the angle of the back is too steep. My husband feels the same way. I do love to look at it though!!
ReplyDeleteMake sure the back is tall enough, some nights you spend most of your time there and it gets old if you can't lean your head back!
ReplyDeleteThis is a cute room! I love the stripes-- it reminds me of Melissa Esplin's kid room: http://melissaesplin.com/2011/09/a-sneak-peek/

Some great decor ideas... :)
We have the pottery barn Baby classic glider and ottoman. LOVE it!! So comfy, lots of room, side arm height is perfect for feeding baby, and the back of the chair is perfect height to lay your head back during those middle of the night feedings (and I am a tall mom, 5'10"). We got the white linen cover and are so pleased. It is nice thick heavy duty linen, easy to put on and take off. The slip cover also has lots of velco so it really stays in place. No slipping and sliding. And the chair does not look to "nursey" so it can be moved to a bedroom or living room later! Highly recommend it!!
ReplyDeleteI love the nursery pictures. I working with a client on a bathroom project now, and I think the grey stripe in the walls will look very nice in her space. The baby Christmas tree is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI got an upholstered swivel rocker by Dutailier with its matching rocking upholstered ottoman at Bellini 6 years ago with my first child. Still in fabulous shape at baby #3, and super comfortable. The arms are not too wide as some of those upholstered chair arms can be, and the cushioning is great. I love the rocking ottoman, because it is great to put my feet up when I rock the baby to sleep.
ReplyDeleteYour girls are adorable with that tree.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck finding the right glider. I never could find one that didn't make me queasy, so I settled for a rocker recliner. Not exactly pretty, but I can see it in my son's room for years and years and years down the road.
I love that this nursery stills fun but still calming. I think that's a really important balance to strike.. especially in a nursery! Great little tree too!!
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely adorable and I'm considering this palette as my baby to be is a boy and will have to join his older sister in one room. Nice and neutral. I'd love to see more ideas for kids sharing rooms, if you have them!
ReplyDeleteMy only plea: can you feature some nurseries that DO NOT use crib bumpers?! Every pediatrician in the world will tell you not to use them as they could pose a SIDS risk - something no new mom wants to worry about! When I had my first baby I went whole hog and bought all kinds of bedding (for a ridiculous amount of money) and then was too scared to use it. I later opted for this great "breathable bumper" instead: http://www.amazon.com/BreathableBaby-Breathable-Safer-Bumper-Cribs/dp/B0013FGWD0
Not the most aesthetically pleasing, but it's only for a short while and it's much safer. :)
Saw this on another blog. They took the swivel off an old rocker and put it on an IKEA JennyLund chair. The link is below.

I love my rocker/glider. It is the Holden chair by C. R. Laine :-)
