Steven Gambrel. The man, the myth, the legend.

It's sort of weird how many times I'll see a picture on a blog or in a magazine and say to myself "Dang. That is a good looking room. Who designed it? Oh, of course. Steven Gambrel."

The man is so crazy talented. Take a load off and dedicate an hour to perusing his portfolio. You won't be sorry.

  8. LOVE his work. I need to actually dedicate a couple of hours and just study some of the rooms! The red frames photo-- Eddie Ross used that at his frame discussion in Atlanta!! it was fun to hear him talk about an image I had seen so many times.

  12. I get that his rooms are pretty--but why is he good to you? What makes his decorating style something that is appreciated by designers? I'd be curious for your thoughts from this perspective--

  14. Oh, I am so with you on this. I love his work! Isn't it funny how we find ourselves attracted to the work of the same designers, even when we don't know initially who the designer was when we see an image? I have many of these same photos saved in my inspiration files. Great post!

  37. That hallway with all the red frames is so visually interesting! I'm wondering though - doesn't it take away a lot from the art itself?

I'd love it if you wanted to take a look at my art photographs & collages - perhaps they could be used in one of your design projects? I'm looking for ways to expand my business since I love, love, love what I do; I get a lot of lovely feedback and, well, it's my life, basically!
