It's sort of weird how many times I'll see a picture on a blog or in a magazine and say to myself "Dang. That is a good looking room. Who designed it? Oh, of course. Steven Gambrel."
The man is so crazy talented. Take a load off and dedicate an hour to perusing his portfolio. You won't be sorry.
He really can do bookshelves-- that's always what stands out to me. Thanks for compiling all these great images.
ReplyDeleteHe's the absolute best- that was fun!
ReplyDeleteSo true and even more so with this post; some I recognized and didn't know were his. His rooms look so complete.

ReplyDeleteWhat great rooms! So inspiring! LOVE the red frames gallery hallway!
ReplyDeleteLOVE his work. I need to actually dedicate a couple of hours and just study some of the rooms! The red frames photo-- Eddie Ross used that at his frame discussion in Atlanta!! it was fun to hear him talk about an image I had seen so many times.
ReplyDeleteLove that playroom - what a cool room for a child to grow up with!
ReplyDelete"Crazy-Talented" is exactly what he is! Truly an original and creative mind. Thanks for all these great pics!
ReplyDeleteI'm mad for his work - always have been.
ReplyDeleteI get that his rooms are pretty--but why is he good to you? What makes his decorating style something that is appreciated by designers? I'd be curious for your thoughts from this perspective--
ReplyDeleteSteven is in my top ten and I'd venture to guess he holds a place in a lot of top ten lists.
ReplyDeleteOh, I am so with you on this. I love his work! Isn't it funny how we find ourselves attracted to the work of the same designers, even when we don't know initially who the designer was when we see an image? I have many of these same photos saved in my inspiration files. Great post!
ReplyDeleteso incredible. ahh can't get enough.
ReplyDeleteI browsed this post twice already and am going back for more. There are many fine details to each of these spaces and they’re all gorgeous and comfortable. The kitchens, oh, the kitchens…
ReplyDeleteit's true, he's incredible! The first time I decorated my living room, I totally went off of a photo I saw of his own living room for inspiration. He never fails to create something amazing.
ReplyDeleteSo many great examples of hanging artwork in multiples, use of color, and on and on...thanks for sharing! Janell
ReplyDeleteAMEN sister, I was just thinking the same thing again yesterday and today as I posted a few photos.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be great ti shadow him for a week.

ReplyDeleteomg--he's a genius!
ReplyDeleteThat hallway with all the red frames is so visually interesting! I'm wondering though - doesn't it take away a lot from the art itself?
ReplyDeleteI'd love it if you wanted to take a look at my art photographs & collages - perhaps they could be used in one of your design projects? I'm looking for ways to expand my business since I love, love, love what I do; I get a lot of lovely feedback and, well, it's my life, basically!

ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this! I have our hallways lined with black and white photos but it always was a little too dull for me. The red frames is the perfect solution. I'll just spray paint them all:-)
