Tufting On the Arms

I saw this chair at CC today, with fabulous tufting on the back and the arms...

And I quickly thought of these chairs, which are, incidentally, never that far out of my mind.
{How could I ever forget a pink velvet like that?}

I'd love to dedicate some time today to finding an inexpensive version of this lovely chair, but it's not gonna happen. Anyone else up for it? Copy Cat Chic?

  1. Oooh that pink, and velvet too, is as good as it gets! The tufting brings a richness to the chairs (considering their simple lines).

  2. I feel like the big fat cheshire cat in Alice in Wonderland, smiling ear to ear - I found a tufted loveseat at a local 2nd hand shop for a song and it is crying for a fun color. love that pink....
    now to find those chairs for you....

  3. Had tufting on the brain, myself - for a glider in the nursery. However, after careful consideration (of potential baby spit-up settling in tuft nooks) I've decided against it.
    Guess it'll have to wait for another day, another project {sigh}

  12. These have a less contemporary feel but still the same basic idea:

    Ralph Lauren makes a chair called the Hudson River Valley Wing Chair that puts a slightly different spin on the chair you like.

    This is an interesting take on tufted arms: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_0Nzq_GuP63M/SzDnUsGBRTI/AAAAAAAAB54/RmrDJdI_Mjs/s320/Blog+12.2109+015.jpg (circainteriors.blogspot.com)

    Don't know if that helps. Good luck in your search!

  15. I love your blog!! I visit everyday and quite honestly have no idea how you do it. Two small girls, a new baby girl, beautiful home, and constantly coming up with great new (and fully implemented in your own home) ideas - not to mention taking the time to share them with us.

    YOU ROCK!!

  24. The dog!!! Bernese Mountain Dogs are far more beautiful than a chair!!

    Sorry! Although I am a designer my heart belongs to these dogs.

  26. I have a chair (currently on my back porch), which I found in an alley. I want to get it reupholstered and would love to do this look. Any idea for an online resource for this type of pink velvet? I'm so clueless about what type of fabric I need for a chair like that.
