Easter Weekend Recap

This weekend was so perfect. The sun was out and we met up with friends for an egg hunt at Wagner Park (can you spy Lady Liberty?)

I can't believe how big Evelyn is looking lately. She is so not a baby anymore (boo), and like most younger siblings, is trying to grow up as fast as possible to keep up with her older sisters. This photo cracks me up - she was throwing a fit because she wanted to stay at school with Grace and Claire. She kept saying "Ina big girl tooooooo!" And then she did the most hilarious sad Eeyore shuffle all the way home.

In between the Easter festivities and all the cooking (I feel like I cook through every holiday! Don't you?), I got to squeeze in some errands and projects. I was especially excited to do a little reconnaissance work on inlay furniture. Can't WAIT to share this project with you next week!

Looks like Big Lots and Lot Less are selling overstock of the Missoni for Target ottomans. These were only $40!

My girls are on a whiteboard kick (so helpful for encouraging handwriting practice) and I stopped into Staples to pick up a pack of the new WASHABLE (!) dry erase markers. There might have been a detour made to the Martha Stewart office line section. I'm such a sucker for journals and notebooks. And shagreen? Forgetaboutit.

I also popped into the Chelsea flea for about 15 minutes. Just enough time to find a cute little acrylic stool for the bathroom and to take a photo of this adorable idea. Grace and Claire are super into drawing "fancy" outfits. I'm going to copy this idea and frame some of theirs. Maybe on a lavender-gray mat board?

How was your weekend? I hope it was lovely. xx

  10. I got so tired of spending every holiday in the kitchen that I finally designated certain holidays to be free from kitchen drudgery. Christmas is definitely cinnamon rolls for breakfast and fun easy hors d'oeuvres for dinner. It can be anything, as long as I'm enjoying making it. When we have family over, the same applies--they must have fun making it in order to bring it!
Remember Fashion Plates? I think that is how they made all the outfits comparable in size. Great format for kids to create from and design on, while keeping them uniform for display. Love the idea of displaying their art this way--very unique.

  12. Yay! So glad to be visiting again! I gave up LGN for lent because I just couldn't think of anything else that would feel like as much of a sacrifice. That means I love LGN more than sweets, TV, coffee... Can't wait to see what I missed over the last 6 weeks!

  13. I totes bought those washable dry erase markers but was disappointed because they were rather faint.
I have a teeny one too and she wants to be like her MUCH older sis who is about to be 15. I have found that Magic Erasers get marks off of most anything even Sharpies off skin.

  15. I'm going to DIE if you figured out a way to reproduce bone/mother of pearl inlay!
I tried it a few months back on a couple of stools, and it was sort of a disaster. Can't wait to see what you brewed up! ;)

  16. I'm such a sucker for notebooks too. When I was little, for every present giving holiday my sister and I would ALWAYS receive a notebook. When I hit like 13, I got SO TIRED of it...but now it's 10 years later and I love gathering little notebooks!

  17. Which vendor was selling that cut cut-out dress print? I would love to pick it up at the Flea! Did you happen to buy it?

  18. I died over Evie's eeyore walk. That is the cutest thing ever in life. Our baby Gracie has just started a fake cry where she does this exaggerated pout and it is my favorite thing yet, although I am sure strangers observing think I am terrible for giggling at my sad baby.
    GAH your babies are cute.
And as always, inspired by your project ideas.
