We need a pair of very narrow armchairs in the brownstone. I'm planning to use these bergeres right now, but there's a chance they'll be just a hair too wide and not nearly deep enough for the long living room (we'll just have to see once we get in there next week). But these narrow and deep armchairs from Canvas just might be perfect for the space. (and how pretty would bright red pillows be on the blush pink linen?!)
The price on these is not that great, but maybe I could find something vintage with similar proportions? I think I'm mostly just crazy for the upholstered legs! What a great look (and something I could totally DIY).
I am all over blush pink these days, great looking chairs!
ReplyDeleteCute idea to upholster the legs and the pink is sweet but I would pass on these. The upholstery job looks very amateur with all the lumps and pulls.
ReplyDeleteI can vacuum till the cows come home, but these would end up dingy in my house. Love that chair shape though!
ReplyDeleteI agree that the upholstered legs really MAKE that chair
ReplyDeleteOk, now I'm trying to figure out where I could squeeze in a pair of blush pink chairs with red pillows...
ReplyDeleteVery cute chairs. The proporations are just right. I have NEVER seen upholstered legs. Love!
ReplyDeleteWith all due respect, the chairs look amatureish with the pulls and dips in the upholstery work. For the price, any piece of furniture should be a delight to the eyes as well as the bum!
ReplyDeleteHey Jenny! I saw a pair of these that were so similar on our CL last week, but I was too late! I love this look, too! Grace

I used blush pink linen to cover some of the furniture in my store, and loved it! Such an easy color to accent with a pop of color! great chairs!

I've been loving chairs with upholstered legs. Even dining chairs. I have a feeling though that my cat would use them as a scratching post. But I like your DIY idea. At least if I try it I won't have spent a ton of money if the cat decides to destroy my work.
ReplyDeleteYES! red pillows would be perfect! and I love those "legs"!!!!
ReplyDeleteI've seen upholstered legs before but never on wing backs! I love the color and I think maybe you should bite the bullet on these if not it might be one of those why didn't I buy them!!! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteGo for it as a diy! This chair is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI love the chair! So lovely:)

that chair - SWOON! Beautiful lines, very chic.
ReplyDeleteAlso can I just say, as a long time reader of your blog I have only recently started commenting -you are such a huge inspiration and I love your work!
Beautiful...I adore those upholstered legs but you could definitely do a DIY!!! And that blush color is beautiful...what a great find!

love the color, yes! red pillows, yes! as well as the overall line of the chair, yes! but i agree with those who are concerned about keeping the legs looking great, my three kids and two dogs.... the chair wouldn't be pretty for very long!maybe in a low traffic bedroom?
ReplyDeleteThe idea of upholstered chair legs is fun--but after having had upholstery on a chair base...never again. The fabric "catches" everything :-/
ReplyDeleteI made the mistake of buying a beautiful, neutral linen ottoman with upholstered legs years ago when my kids were young and we had 2 dogs & 3 cats. A week in it looked horrible and stayed that way until I removed the legs and added wood ones from the hardware store. I vote against the upholstered legs though I love the chairs and the blush color.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteLe sigh...they're stunning!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the chair! I want it for my apartment
