(This photo cracked me up when I found it on my phone (Gracie's becoming quite the little sneaky photographer). Do your kids climb inside your jacket when they get cold? I secretly love the extra snuggles (and warmth!), but now I'm thinking it must look a little weird to passersby? ha!)
Linus and I have been going out for runs together along the Promenade and I'm remembering how much I love this place. I was talking to another woman in my church about how sometimes we just want to move somewhere easier and cheaper to live. She gave me some wise words: Never make any decisions about moving away from the city in the winter, or your emotions will get the best of you. :)
Well, I think spring must be just around the corner because all the fancy brownstones in the Heights are putting out cut flower arrangements in their window boxes. Talk about luxury right? There's some major wiggle room in your budget if you can afford weekly flowers for your neighbor's sidewalk viewing pleasure.
Have a lovely weekend friends! If you're celebrating Easter, I hope it's a great one for you and your family. xo
Your outfit is so chic!
ReplyDeleteYou and your family are adorable! Do you mind me asking where you bought your hat and boots? Love! Love!
ReplyDeleteYou guys must have been the cutest gang of girls around, with all that bright colors!
ReplyDeleteWow! Impressive luxury in the cut flowers. My kids will take pics/video of anyone - I had to do a quick little electronics etiquette lesson w/ my 5 yr old at the tax office last week! Yikes! Happy Spring - It IS right around the corner! (somewhere...:)
ReplyDeleteI used to live two blocks from Washington Square Park while in law school. Ah, how I miss it. Thank you for the pictures and your children are adorable.

Thanks, guys! Jessica, the hat is just from H&M and the boots were a Loeffler Randell sale score. Still a bit of an investment, but I've been wearing them since the fall and the cost-per-wear factor helps me feel great about the purchase choice! :)

LOVE your booties! Where are those from?
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of scooter is that and at what age were the girls able to use them regularly?
ReplyDeleteWe buy the Mini Kick scooter when they turn 2, and I think by the time they are 2.5/3yrs they are really good at scootering. When my girls turn five or so, we get them the Maxi Kick, which is a little bigger (big enough for even me to ride since the T bar is adjustable). :)
ReplyDeleteHope that helps! xo
You look adorable with your little ones snuggled up by your side. Ahh.. to be a kid in NYC. What a wonder it must be. A child's playground, I'm sure. I love the words of wisdom you shared from the lady at your church. As a Philly transplant myself, I needed the advice.
ReplyDeleteI loved looking at your photos.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!
Your family just makes me smile, and I'm sure they are such a blessing to you. By the way, where did you get the coats for your daughters? It wasn't until I bought a long coat for myself that I realized what a difference a coat that covers your butt can make in keeping a person warm! HAHA!! I'd love to get one for my 5-year-old. Also, thanks for the pics of NYC. I hope one day to actually visit NYC myself. Until then, I'll live vicariously through you! :)
ReplyDeleteHey Brittany! I bought my two older girls' coats from Lands End. They have really great (and pretty affordable!) down coat options. I bought one for myself two or three years ago that is gray with brass buttons and zippers and I still love it and wear it when it is just frigid outside. I usually buy the girls new coats there every year since they end up pretty trashed by the end of each season. :)
ReplyDeleteEvie's coat is from Crewcuts. It's pricier, but is super thick and is fleece-lined. Keeps her very cozy.

I love your dog. Family looks so beautiful. Glad you're running.I'm doing a few 10km races this year.
ReplyDeleteWould you mind doing a post on interesting things to do in NYC? My husband and I will be visiting for our 15th wedding anniversary this summer. We may stay with relatives in Queens, or we may stay in a hotel in Brooklyn. What do you recommend? (We will be sans children!)
ReplyDeleteI laughed about the surprise pictures on your phone. Today I found 12 picture of my dogs at the back door and 14 more of the carpet runner or floor courtesy of my 5 year old son.
ReplyDeleteYES my kid does that too! Usually she tries to do it in a grocery store. I think I FINALLY have her trained not to kiss or pat me on my, cough, chest region, cough. Someday we'll be greatly missing the days when our kiddos tried to put their heads under our shirts :)
ReplyDeleteHope Spring begins in earnest and finds you very soon!!
Wise words indeed. I imagine a long cold winter could cloud your thought process a bit. Darling girls you have and how lucky they are to have the city in their lives.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!
Beautiful pictures..

I love that you're in booties at the playground! and I'm sure your manicure is perfect, too! Love seeing pics of your cute girls!
ReplyDeleteNo place is perfect and I DO live someplace cheaper and easier and I ACHE for NYC when I see these photos...we all make trade offs and the only thing you can control is the YOU that is in those places...I believe you are exactly where you are meant to be. XOXO Happy April!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about Brooklyn. Winter I always feel like it might be time to go...summer, I can't imagine being anywhere else.
ReplyDeleteAlso, to jump on the "where'd you get that" bandwagon, where'd you get that lovely coat? I've been looking for something just like that.
