Quinn's Nursery

Wouldn't you love to work at Anthropologie? More specifically, wouldn't you love to have an employee discount to Anthropologie?? Yeah, me too.

One of my clients works there and is due this summer with a little girl to be named Quinn. Here's where we are with the nursery...

We wanted something fun and bright and girly but not overly so. Still working on finding the perfect dresser/changing table.

Anthropologie products here:
Chesterfield Sofa (my client scored a damaged one at a very deep discount)

Finnegan the Fox

String of Pearls Lamp

Coat of Arms Mirror

  2. Wow - that chesterfield sofa is fabulous! Your blog is simply put..amazing. I sat down the other day and I think I read it from beginning to end. As a new blogger (and fellow DIY-er) I was quite impressed. I look forward to more to come. :)

And, that is, most definitely my dream sofa. Does your client have another heavily discounted one? :)

  4. Looks beautiful! :) Where is the floral fabric (or wallpaper?) from?

  5. Gorgeous nursery! Quinn is a beautiful choice, it is my cousin's middle name and I've always loved it.

Now, I'm running off to order Finnegan the Fox for my son Finnegan!

  7. Please, please, please (if you can/will) tell me where you found that amazing lamp!!! And, whether the chevron print in aqua is a fabric you've found, or what. I love them both!

  8. I love it!! Please share the details on that landmarks wallpaper (?) or print in the upper left. It's so cute!!!

  10. So cute! I love the play of colors. They seem so vintagey! I just bought that same frakin mirror off of craigslist for $60..lol. Her nursery is going to be so chic & great for the kid to grow in.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Where does one find a red crib like that? Or any colored crib??

    ReplyDelete
  15. That red crib is delicious. I'm kind of glad I don't have the discount; I'd be broke.

  16. So my daughter named Quinn is turning 7 in a couple of weeks - could you just buy two of everything and send it to me? That would be great. Thanks. :)

  17. oh wow! this may be one of my favorites! the sofa is amazing. please please please show the final results! i love how gender neutral it is. i feel like so many gender neutral nurseries look boring for like they're for a boy. you could put a boy or girl in here and both would fit perfectly!

  18. this is going to be one fabulous nursery.

  19. I'm not sure if it's good to start life with such an exquisite nursery... no room will ever measure up the rest of her life. (:

  20. loves it all... that sofa is amazing and so chic for a sofa. Is the crib being bought red or is being painted red.

Also - what kind of paint do you suggest painting an item that will be in a baby's room.

P.S. move over Quinn I think I'm going to be bunking with you in that room.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'd love to know where you got the chevron fabric, and what color are you painting the walls?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Oh my gosh!!! This is insanely gorgeous! I want this nursery but I'm a long way away from having a baby (or even getting married for that matter). You are constantly shocking me with your design skills!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I LOVE this! One of my favorite idea boards I've seen. What a lucky mommy to have all those discounts.

  24. I am loving where this nursery is going! That sofa is breathtaking! Love love love it!

  25. I love this nursery board and that chesterfield sofa looks great for the space.
    I love your blog.

  26. This is going to be so cute! I can't wait to see the "after." I am currently transforming our little boy nursery into a little girl one, and ironically had some of the same elements in mind. I was going to get some coral seersucker fabric for the windows and bring in red accents to balance out the green and white stripe Ikea rug (I got the idea from you-I stitched together two runners) and tan walls. I'm looking for some floral fabrics that bring in all the colors. What is this one that you're using?

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm in love with the NYC illustration. I must have it. Where is that from?!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Since I'm working on my son's nursery, I love seeing how others are coming together. This one is absolutely adorable! I love that it's whimsical without being babyish.

    ReplyDelete
  29. LOVE this!!! I love that it's girly without being pink and has tons of charm! It sort of reminds me of Sloane's nursery (Erika from Urban Grace Interiors).

    ReplyDelete
  30. Of course, I love it!! I never had a nursery for any of my babies so I'm a bit green with envy over this stylish option! Please share the floral fabric or is wallpaper??
    Thanks for being brilliant!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Actually, when I look at it, is the floral really a rug?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Lovely!! I would pretty much like to live inside an Anthropologie. So jealous of the discount!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Such a happy, pretty design board; love the colors and patterns! Make sure to show us pics of the finished room!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Oh my goodness. What a darling room that will be. I love every last thing about it.

It may not be right for this room, but for each of our little ones we have used an IKEA Hemnes dresser as a changing table. It's a good height for us (we are tall), and it's a dresser...not a changing table, so it grows with the kiddo. We have a black one with cute Anthropologie knobs (bought at full price, alas--no discount here).

Thanks for sharing this amazing room.

  35. Oh my goodness. Can I have all these elements (except the crib, obv) for MY room, please? Especially the landmarks print/fabric/wallpaper. Whatever it is, I want it.

  36. what a lucky little girl! love the red crib combined with the blue and white chevron fabric. My new favorite color combo.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I am also interested in getting more information on the chevron fabric. Have been looking for some for our little boy's nursery. Please advise! Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Love it.....especially that chevron "something"--hoping it's a rug. It would be the perfect aqua addition to my little girl's room. More info please.

  39. It looks great! Love the chesterfied sofa. What a lucky little girl!

  40. I absolutely love this, Jenny! I cannot wait to see pictures of it. Favorite nursery ever, hands down!

  41. yes, i too would like to know where to get that chevron rug. and the red crib, please.

  42. If I worked at Anthropologie, I would want to live there! Every time I walk in, it just feels so calm and serene. But I think my husband would be bummed if I slept there every night so I guess it's not on my career path :)

    ReplyDelete
  43. That is by far my favorite little girl's nursery! What a great room to grow up in!

    ReplyDelete
  44. since friends of our are having the first babe in our gang ;).. I can't stop thinking about baby things.. that Bed is really stunning..

    ReplyDelete
  45. I am absolutely in love. I am going to be just like everyone else and ask where the new york wallpaper/print is from? It is fabulous. I also love the crib--is it bought that color or painted? You are one seriously talented gal.

  46. Hi friends,

Thanks for all the nice comments. We're excited about the room too!

The chevron fabric is from Premier Prints.

The crib was purchased online already red (just google red jenny lind crib). My client paid more because she didn't want to deal with spray painting a Jenny Lind crib herself, which is what I would have done (and have done with my own girls' crib).

The subway print can be found on the MTA (NYC's subway system) website in the gifts or prints section. At least it was there a few weeks ago... It was illustrated by Julia Rothman, who I am a big fan of.

    The lamp is from Anthro.

The floral print is actually a rug! It's from Overstock (surprise, surprise).

The red ticking is a sheet from Serena and Lily.

I think that's it. I'm in a rush out the door, or I would have included the links here. Let me know if you can't find anything.

And thanks goes to Shari for footing the bill and then being willing to share all this "insider's info" with you guys. :)

  49. OH...MY...GOSH! Love at first sight! That sofa is incredible! This is one of the best nurseries I've ever seen. I'm so glad you're willing to think outside of the pastel box that most people seem stuck inside of. This is so fresh and fun!

  50. So beautiful great job Jenny, I love the story board! Did you just put those together in photoshop or do you have another program you love?

  51. ohhhh, that sofa...what a lucky little girl!!

  52. Hey Jenny love the nursery. My girlfriend just had a baby girl named Quinn and I helped her with her nursery, we painted the ceiling pink so it wouldn't be so overwhelming in the room. Love this nursery!!

  54. I literally squealed with delight when I saw that Chesterfield sofa! (Not my proudest moment.) It's the exact sofa I've been wanting my whole life. Now all that needs to happen is for me to win the lottery, get a large inheritance, or Anthropologie to make it, oh, say 1/6 of its current price.

  55. This is adorable yet cool. The red crib is my favorite along with all the fabrics and accessories. Well done!

  56. I had my first son a little more than 7 years ago, and there are SO many things I'd do differently if I were decorating his nursery today. We've had two more sons since then, and I've left the room like it is, but I've decided that if we have another one, I'm starting over! Your blog and several other design blogs really inspire me every day, and even though I only comment every once in a while, I wanted to let you know that!

  57. saw that couch today at the store, it's gorgeous.

i've been blog stalking you for sometime. i already ikea hacked those dressers/nightstands and now i'm going to have to have a girl to recreate my own version of this nursery. hands down the best mood board for a girl i've seen.

  58. That is amazing! The red crib is awesome (and SO you)!!! Great job!

  60. G.o.r.g.e.o.u.s. I love how far people have strayed from the Noah's Ark and hanging monkey type themes. It's so much nicer to have a real room that will grow with the baby and be fun all at the same time.

  61. I don't know if you were soliciting ideas about the changing table when you posted that or not, but I got to thinking about it, and my youngest daughter's changing table was an old squarish farm table with the little drawer. I put a soft towel down on it, the surface was large enough so diapers and such were handy and it work well. And this is so funny. After hanging out in the garage attic for a while, she used it as her computer desk when she went to college. Hope you're all doing well.

  63. This is a nice board! All are pretty! I like the colors and the designs!

  64. LOVE this nursery! I am currently painting a jenny lind crib a burnt orange color in high gloss and have pale aqua walls. I'm making a gray/white horizontal striped bedskirt as well. And I'm throwing in some random fox things, but nothing too themey. We're waiting to be surprised on if we are having a boy/girl. This is one of my favorite nurseries I have seen featured on any blogs! Love, Love, Love! Please post finished pics!

p.s. Where is the bird print from? and do you know of anywhere I can get Finnegan the fox....sold out on anthro site. Thanks!
